What Job Do I Do?
My job title is Children and Young peoples’ Mental Health Worker. I support children and young people between the ages of 7-24 years by delivering skills-based courses which help them to manage, cope and understand their feelings and emotions.
Where Do I Work?
I am mostly based at The Bridge Child and Family Centre but also occasionally at Mind Jersey Head Office in Beresford Street, St Helier.
When might you work with me?
You might work with me if you or your friends or family feel you are experiencing a mental health problem and would benefit with some support and guidance to help you through. If you are aged between 7-24 years you can contact me yourself or you can be referred by a friend or family or someone in your school who maybe worried about you.
What does a typical day look like in my job?
My job looks different every day, I could be running a group for 7-11 year olds during the morning and supporting a young person on a one to one basis during the afternoon.
What do I like most about my job?
I love being able to make a positive difference in children and young people’s lives, empowering them through knowledge and education as well as just the right amount of support
