Volunteers with lived experience of mental ill health needed

Posted in: volunteersneeded

Peer support involves offering and receiving help that is based on shared experiences, respect and mutual empowerment. Mind Jersey has been providing purposeful, one-to-one peer support since 2014, and we are currently looking to recruit a new bank of peer support workers. This is a voluntary role, for which training will be provided.

We are looking for people who have first-hand experience of living with their own mental illness, who are currently in recovery and are willing to give up to three hours a week to provide support to others.

If you have this experience, are over 18 and would like to find out more, please contact Jennifer at j.browne@mindjersey.org , or phone 880584. The closing date for applications is 20th December 2017.
